Parkwatcher 2 (Demo)

You know when you're playing a game, you really get into it, you anticipate everything, it's amazing.... and then it tells you that the full version is coming soon. Are you a fan of puzzle games? Are you a fan of horror games? If all of these apply to you, then you will definitely enjoy Parkwatcher. All you're told is that the Parkwatcher caught you a week ago, and you must escape. You're in a prison cell-like area with 2 rocks, a lightbulb hanging above you giving your only light, a shiny spot on the ground, and a bunch of other things that you can't really interact with. From there, you have to figure out how to get out without the Parkwatcher catching you and doing whatever he wants to you. The game has a few quirks and bugs in it, but they're barely noticable, and this game was made by one 15-year-old, so it's understandable. Altogether, for a demo, this was extraordinary.

Hello? Hell...O

I think that's how you write out the name, but whatever, hopefully you get the idea. This is one of the many RPG style horror games that are lingering around on the internet. This one gives me the feeling of a combination between "Stupid ways to die" mixed with "The Crooked Man" kind of. Basically, you're thrown in a room, and there's a decent amount of stuff in it. As you play the game more, you get more and more ends (not sure the total), but as you get certain ones, more words appear on the home screen. As you get more and more of those words, it'll spell out a conversation, or at least, something someone is saying to your character. You must use these ends and that statement to truly figure out the end that you need to get in the game, and figure out what to do in the game. This game is good because it really peeks your interest, and people who enjoy those exploration games can have a fun time trying to find all of the different ends. Horror fans will enjoy the atmospheres and some of the scares that come along with it. All in all, this is a game that most people can find enjoyment in, one way or another.

Slendytubbies 2 & Schedule

A long time ago, I talked about one of my favorite Slender games which was Slendytubbies where you played as a generic white Teletubby and searched for custards while the purple Tubby hunted you down. Well, with the Terror Engine out, giving people more opportunities to create horror games. Someone, deranged as they probably were, decided that it would be a great idea to make a sequel to that game, and it's actually really good.

Improved graphics, multiple game modes, over 10 different levels you could play on, choosing how many custards you have to get, this game is quite the sequel. The gameplay/story is the same as it's former game. You're roaming around this world (multiple choices), and you run around in search of all the custards that are left on the world. While you're looking around, there is a killer slendytubby on the search for your blood. The monster is a lot scarier than in the first game, unless you play the original level, where it's the same monster from the first game, or if you play the Minecraft version where it's a blocky version of the original one. Multiplayer is still there so that you can both hunt for the custards together, and they even brought back versus mode so one friend can hunt down 1 or more other friends. Definitely a good game if you like a Slender games, as well as if you just like a good horror game.

As far as a schedule goes, I'm planning on being back for a while now. I plan to do at least 1 critique a week, and the main plan is every Monday, but if you don't see one on Sunday, don't be scared, because one will be up each week by Wednesday latest.

Our Last Stand Death Maze & Possible Return

It's been a long time since I've made a post, and I apologize for that, but it's for good reason. With it being my Senior year, it was getting very stressful, and with me finally finishing High School on May 22, I believe I can do more of these without worrying about millions of other things. Now, with that out of the way, it's time to talk about the game

Minecraft. It's a Sandbox game that typically is a fun-for-all kind of game, but it has it's moments where it can be terrifying. Our Last Stand is a Minecraft server that I have enjoyed playing on since late October 2013, and it has yet to let me down. Around late March or April, my friend on the server Leif and I were talking wanting the heads of certain players, and he told me about a maze on the server called "Death Maze" where if you're lucky, you'll find a random head of some player who is a part of the server. Enjoying the sound of this, I put on some good diamond armor, got some good weapons, and was on my way, but I was not ready for what I was about to endure.

Essentially, let me explain death maze, or at least, OLS's version of it. It's an infinitely expanding world full of tunnels, rooms, and whatever. As you go about, there'll be anything from the walls being any kind of stone (cobble, smooth, mossy, mossy stone brick, etc), and some random coal or netherrack or whatever. Scattered about will be chests with random loot, sand, gravel, and the big factor of them all, monster spawners. You can not turn a corner without anticipating at least 1 zombie, or being fully surprised when an army of skeletons come marching your way. With the fact that it is infinitely expanding, there's never really an end to it either, so you pretty much go until you decide you can't anymore. The head thing is true too, and is a nice touch to enduring such a scary and daunting death maze. You can find heads of any players, including mods, admins, and even the operator himself LastTulare.

Death maze is a high risk, high reward, high blood pressure rush of intensity that can you leave you shaky and fidgety after just 10 minutes of playing. You get tons of exp from all the killing you do, plus with one of the plugins, you get money with each creature you kill, so you always leave with a bunch of good things. You can also find nifty items in the chests, plus there's special rooms you can find like the library with some chests, many bookcases, and 2 enchantment tables. You can also find a furnace room, or one of the deserted rest stops.

One of the coolest things about Death Maze is that no matter how scared you are, how stupid it might sound when you first start, no matter what, you rarely want to stop. You'll be playing it, and suddenly your exp won't seem to go higher, your inventory is full, but for some reason, you just can't get yourself to stop. If you enter with a bunch of friends, there is plenty of excitement and fear to go all around, and if you form a party with them, you can all share with the benefits! There is literally a ton of fun waiting in this maze, but be warned, it's not for the faint of heart.
